Day 3 Workshop: K8s observability with Prometheus, Pixie, Fluent Bit and New Relic

When: 2022-05-11 16:00:00 +0000 (your local date/time)

Learn the fundamentals of Kubernetes and how to use a variety of OSS frameworks to observe and debug your environments.

This hands-on workshop will cover the fundamentals of Kubernetes and using a variety of OSS frameworks to observe and debug your environments. First, we will go over the basics, including concepts (pods, nodes, services, ..), kubectl, Helm, and troubleshooting techniques for a Kubernetes deployment. Then, we will configure Prometheus in our Kubernetes cluster and collect metrics from the cluster by installing and configuring the Prometheus OpenMetrics Integration (POMI) and configure Fluent Bit to send logs to New Relic. Finally, we are going to install Pixie, a eBPF based framework to view traces and metrics from within your cluster without additional instrumentation.
